I may be said to have an antiquarian interest in East Kent in the style of William Stukeley or John Wood. I am especially interested in the landscape around Bridge and the Elham Valley south-east of Canterbury, specifically in the way it is transformed and re-imagined in folklore, legend, literature, and, then again, by my own writing, to become a place of imagination. Another focal point is the archaeology and history of Bridge Hill.
My research encompasses walking practices as ways of reconnecting with the local environment and encouraging sustainable relations.
