Dr David Shaw

Profile

I am a historian of printing and the book trade, with a special interest in the book trade in Kent in the eighteenth century. I also have a strong interest in the development of the Cathedral Library in Canterbury since 1600 (https://cclprovenance.djshaw.co.uk/).

I am a volunteer at the Cathedral Archives and Library. At the British Library I am an honorary member of staff working on the ESTC project. I am also a trustee of Canterbury Archaeological Trust. Currently I am working on a study of the role of the London and regional stationers in supplying administrative form for the administration of the Poor Law in the eighteenth century.
