Founding Director of The Centre for Kent History and Heritage
Jackie is Professor Emeritus at CCCU, where she lectured in History for 27 years. She is a former President of the Historical Association (2011-2014) and her research specialisms include Canterbury and Kent during the English Civil Wars, Puritanism, and Tudor and Stuart Women.
She regularly talks about her research to local History Societies in Kent and covers topics such as Witchcraft in Kent, Iconoclasm in Canterbury Cathedral, and Women and the World of Work in Kent in the 16th and 17th Centuries.
Jackie is currently working on a range of projects, including an Historical Atlas of Kent in partnership with Canterbury Archaeological Trust and The Historical Towns Trust, which will be published in 2025/6.
