"Shifting Sands: Kentish Coastal Communities in Transition"
First Supervisor: Ellie Williams | Chair: Peter Vujakovic
My research focuses on the impacts and legacy of community archaeological projects along Kent’s east coast. By using a qualitative methodology, including interviews with community archaeologists and volunteers, she aims to demonstrate the wide range of project legacies that community archaeology can achieve. My case studies are located in Sandwich Bay, Folkestone, and Dover.
I previously have worked in Museums in Kent, working to engage local people in heritage. I was keen to conduct research in this area to better understand the history and heritage in this area, as well as to continue to engage a wide range of people.
My PhD is a Collaborative Doctoral Partnership with Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA). I have worked with and am thankful for the support of the CITiZAN project, the National Trust, and the Canterbury Archaeological Trust with my research.
