- Kent and the two World Wars, defence, invasion, supply and the effect on the local population. This includes the secret port of Richborough, which made a significant contribution to victory in 1918, and the Baedeker raids on Canterbury in 1942.
- French revolutionary and Napoleonic wars and the Military Canal and anti0-invasion defences and forts.
- The role of Appledore in the German airborne plans for Operation Sealion - the proposed invasion of Britain in 1940.
- Work with National Trust on Lydden Spout coastal battery
- Industrial Revolution and the Poor Law in Kent, with focus on Sheppey
- Whitstable Maritime - Coastal Trail and registration of 'Gamecock' as a National Historic Ship
